Public Liability (PL) covers costs awarded to a claimant who has suffered property damage, bodily injury, disease or even death, caused by the actions of your business.
As a service provider, there will always be the need to “work away” from your own business premises. Ordinarily this might include visiting clients at their premises to deliver courses or programmes, making sales presentations or when representing your business at conferences and other networking events. Although, Public Liability Insurance is not compulsory, anyone that engages with clients at their premises or who interfaces with members of the public could find themselves legally exposed to claims arising from accidental property damage or even bodily injury and death. It is common place for local authorites and public sector organizations to insist that outside service providers entering their premises arrange Public Liability insurance.
The Public Liability offered under our own exclusive scheme has the following benefits:
- Limits of £2,000,000 or £5,000,000 available
- Defence costs paid in addition to the limit chosen
- Low Policy Excess

Do I really need Public Liability Insurance?
With “No Win No Fee” companies now in abundance, it is worth bearing in mind the financial implications of not arranging Public Liability insurance. For example, if a member of the public or a client suffered a significant injury and you are at fault, they can be compensated for their loss of income, loss of future income and damages awarded by the court. This could run into thousands of pounds and if you do not have any cover in place, you would be personally liable to pay these awards.
